looking back on a year gone past

So lets see whats been up with me .. well as another holiday season draws closer to an end, I am looking back on the year that was. It started out with me loosing a job coincidentally on new years eve day of 2009 and then a month later I began working as free lance videographer which I still do to this very day. In April I resumed my umpiring for a 7th year in a row and also had a wonderful and exciting trip to visit my sister in new york city. I continued umpiring till mid july when I was part of my first theatrical production in over a year. I loved being part of the cast of 42nd St and also while doing that became part of another cast, this one for Barber of Seville. Both shows brought a new widening of my horizons and brought new friends and oppertunities into my life In October I had my 26th birthday and it was another wonderful time.. In November I took myself to see my first concert in over 5 years when Rockapella came to town. I also celebrated the one year anniversary of ...

Things Are Starting to Look Up :)

So today I received a wonderful bit of news. After months of waiting and waiting in regards to my disability claim, today I received a phone call from my case manager who told me that after months of waiting and hoping that I would hear word on my claim, today I found out that my initial claim that was rejected last july today was reversed and it was approved. SUCH A BIG RELIEF to hear that I have been approved. I will begin in january of 2010 receiving a payment check, plus i found out that i am due backmoney and that will be dispursed in 3 installments beginning in a couple weeks. SO not only has that happened, but with the recent additions of getting more gigs, my parents have decided help me pay for a new car. SO as i said things are finally starting to look up for me :)

So the Holidays are coming

So the holidays are coming.... should I be excited bout this? I mean I guess i should be but I 'm not really excited about it because there really isn't much to be joyous about right now. my family has like most families been dealing with the economy and the fact that money is tight.. but yet its really hitting me a little harder then usual. I have been unable to secure a job in the past year other then umpiring which only lasts for 3 months and working as a free lance videographer which sadly there aren't a lot of events that are needing to be filmed so I don't get asked to film which means I don't get jobs=no money which makes things a lot tougher especially when my family has had to reduce its spending to tighten the budget and to try and make ends meet. I have tried to do my part by applying for some state run programs from foodstamps and medicaid to sadly disability. However, foodstamps doesn't help as much as I would and in regards to my disability appli...
Well lets see since the last time I updated this a few things have happened. 1.) about a week ago I had my 26th Birthday and it was a really nice time! celebrated with my best friend went out to dinner a couple of drinks and then went to see where the wild things are which was a decent yet dark movie but the company and the time spent was a great time. 2.) I have been a bit sick of late I had the flu for about a week and then once I finally kicked the flu I still had the cough which has turned into a upper respitory infection which has meant this cough still hasn't gone away. Hopefully soon! Other then that not much still doing a couple of shoots a week and enjoying that while searching for a few other oppertunities but not holding my breath. So yeah thats my life so far.. oh and in regards to the love/social life not much going on i have had a couple people that I have talked with but no serious results yet though I always maintain hope that something could turn up. well thats a...

just a lil update

So lets see what have i been doing... I have been doing alot of shoots for the cable tv station i work for and that has allowed me to earn some money which is always good. I met with my job coach and that went well and during that meeting I got a call from the sub teaching and found out that due to not having a batchlors degree I will be unable to sub-teach which sucks.. so gonna keep doing at least 2/3 shoots a week and gonna hope that the local paper calls me back about that job and gonna look into talking with borders again about doing temp holiday help again. as for my social life i have been doing well haven't really been out there much but i have begun talking with a wonderful young woman whom i have a lot in common with and someone I really have a great connection with and we both enjoy talking with eachother and there is a good chance that there could be something of substance in the future for us.

WOW LONG TIME NO POSTINGWELL

WELL.... let see where to begin! I had a very interesting summer, doing some umpiring and a lot of theatre. Actually 2 seperate but wonderful productions. 1 was a local theatre companies production of 42nd St which was a very stressful, but in the end a very rewarding experience leaving me with a set of new friends and memories! While doing 42nd St I was also presented with a chance to do something that i had never done before, which was Opera. I was at a rehearsal for 42nd st when the production manager came in one day and asked for the names of all the guys in the cast who were free and wanted a chance to do the production. SO I gave her all the names and to my luck I was the only one she called back. So I met with the director and was offered the part of Ambrogious in Barber of Seville ( which I accepted) and started doing rehearsals for that show along with going into production for 42nd St. 42nd St debuted in mid july and was a wonderful success minus a few scares including me ...

Update

Well lets see what has happened since I last updated in march. I finally got to go to NYC and visit my sister and it was a wonderful trip, a trip of a lifetime to be completely honest. I got to see 2 broadway shows, went backstage after one of them. Got to see my cousins and visit with my sister which is something that I rarely get to do. I mean as we were growing up my sister and I were never really that close, and it wasn't till I think we both graduated high school and moved out and into new directions in our lives that our friendship took a new direction as well . I mean we have always been close with one another (goes with being twins) but yet, I really think as we have grown and matured, our friendship as gotten much stronger which is a very wonderful thing for me, because she is the best big (lil since she is only 4'11") sister in the world. During my visit we had so many times where we would just sit and talk with one another, just talk about our lives, the d...

update wow long time

So lets see what has happened lately.. i have been working for the local cable access tv station filming local community events mainly school board and local town meetings which i mean if it was the town i lived in I would be more concerned about what was going on.. but yet thankfully i get paid nicely for it and i mean I also have been able to choose a few events of my choosing such as about a month ago i got to film some local basketball games, and also a few musical events which always bring back memories.  So what else I have been doing.. well I still go to the gym about 2/3 times a week which has helped me keep my weight steady and my blood sugars down my last A1c was about 9.2 which is still not where I want it but  I am hoping that the next check it will be around 8. whatelse..  I have once again signed up with the NHBUA BUD  Baseball Umpire Development program been going once a week to umpiring classes so once again when the weather clears up in april I will be back behind the ...

update

so lets see what have i been upto this past month.. well the month started out with my totaling my subaru in a 1 car accident that i bounced off of a set of guardrails knocking my bumper clean off the car and destroying my headlight and ruining the engine and yeah it was a total loss.. so went through the headache of dealing with the insurance company and the bank where my loan was kept and finally have the debt paid off .  SO the question then was now what do i drive so my parents made the decision to buy a new car and so we bought a new 2009 toyota matrix and so far i love the car it doesn't the greatest gas mileage but it gets me from a-b.   Whatelse.. I have decided to once again take the NHBUA Baseball Umpiring Development classes which i took about 4 years ago.. hopefully this time I can actually focus and pass my two test the field test not soo concerned about but the written one more concerned about.  But i have talked with a couple of my friends about getting some help goi...
Do you ever feel like you are trapped in a glass dome that no matter how hard you try to get out you are just TRAPPED.. the only voice you hear is your own, the only face you see is your own. there are no hopes, dreams, aspirations, just you and your thoughts screams, yells, no matter how loud you scream/yell nobody can hear you.   I just feel soo trapped.. I keep searching for jobs but yet no one is hiring. I look for jobs that I can do but yet my skills don't match the requirements.. or that my physical limitation prevent me from applying for those jobs that most people can do.  I live in such a small area that there really aren't many jobs available and those that are (mainly cashering) I am soo burned out from that because of my last experience working at a local food coop that I just can't deal with it again but yet whatelse is there for me to do??? answer NOTHING there really isn't anything i can do.  For one I dont have a job which there lacks the result of havin...

A New Year a New Beginning?

Well my old year ended quite miserably I lost my job on new years eve day after working my shift i was told by my manager that due to not having enough hours to go around management ( which he had only found out maybe a few hours before) was told to cut all people that were hired as temp workers which meant ME..  SO after working there for just over a month and a few weeks I lost my job and it really hurt.. I really loved it at borders the people the atmosphere everything I even got used to waking up at 4, 5 and 6 in the morning so I could be there to work and on a couple of occasions was there an hour before we even opened the store just sitting in the parking lot.  SO what have i been doing since then.. I have been meeting with a few different agencies to help with not only finding a job but finding one that fits my abilities and is something that I would enjoy doing. However the person in charge of my case isn't really that in tuned with me and doesn't really understand wher...
