After Thoughts

Soo I am officially back home in VT and am still in amazement at the accomplishment of not only going to Umpire School, but just how much I have learned and grown as a person, and as an Umpire.
 I am sooo honored to have gotten the chance to not only work with some of the best umpires in the Majors, but also some of the best Minor League guys, and with some of the best young amateur umpires from not just around the country but the world.
 I am very excited for all the guys who made the "next level" at PBUC which is one step closer to the minor leagues for them.  I am hopeful for the Pro's to have a great season, and as for me I am just excited to take what I learned at the school, over the 5 weeks, and be able to apply it on the fields.

looking back on a year gone past

So lets see whats been up with me .. well as another holiday season draws closer to an end, I am looking back on the year that was. It started out with me loosing a job coincidentally on new years eve day of 2009 and then a month later I began working as free lance videographer which I still do to this very day. In April I resumed my umpiring for a 7th year in a row and also had a wonderful and exciting trip to visit my sister in new york city. I continued umpiring till mid july when I was part of my first theatrical production in over a year. I loved being part of the cast of 42nd St and also while doing that became part of another cast, this one for Barber of Seville. Both shows brought a new widening of my horizons and brought new friends and oppertunities into my life In October I had my 26th birthday and it was another wonderful time.. When the Red Sox drafted Kevin Youkilis out of the University of Cincinnati where he put together a .410/.549/.714/1.263 offensive stat line. Soo as we start the beginning of week #3 I have come to the realization that as much as I want to be like all the other guys who are here umpiring, I need to be able to listen to my body and adjust certain things to make it possible to actually umpire correctly.  My knee is still in one place the swelling has continued to go down but the soreness is still there. Hopefully by Tuesday or Wednesday I can slowly start ramping it up again and won't have lost too much time.
