Umpiring Blog Day 1

So  as I sit here in my Hotel room with the beach right outside my door I am feeling a lot of different emotions.  On my walk today I just felt soo lucky and honored to be where I am, but I am not/and would not have been here without amazing people in my life.     When I first started umpiring 10 years ago I never NEVER would have thought it would have taken me to where I am today.   I started umpiring as a way to make some money during the summer, and slowly but surely  I got more  to really appreciate what it takes to be an umpire.  This is a job where you need to be able to think quickly, anticipate, react and have thick skin. Over the 10 years of umpiring I have gained all of those qualities and many more, and I have really high hopes for myself and I am not without being thankful for all those people who helped me get to where I am.     If I was to start thanking people it would have to start with my family.
