looking back on a year gone past

So lets see whats been up with me .. well as another holiday season draws closer to an end, I am looking back on the year that was. It started out with me loosing a job coincidentally on new years eve day of 2009 and then a month later I began working as free lance videographer which I still do to this very day. In April I resumed my umpiring for a 7th year in a row and also had a wonderful and exciting trip to visit my sister in new york city. I continued umpiring till mid july when I was part of my first theatrical production in over a year. I loved being part of the cast of 42nd St and also while doing that became part of another cast, this one for Barber of Seville. Both shows brought a new widening of my horizons and brought new friends and oppertunities into my life In October I had my 26th birthday and it was another wonderful time.. Things Are Starting to Look Up :)

So today I received a wonderful bit of news. After months of waiting and waiting in regards to my disability claim, today I received a phone call from my case manager who told me that after months of waiting and hoping that I would hear word on my claim, today I found out that my initial claim that was rejected last july today was reversed and it was approved. SUCH A BIG RELIEF to hear that I have been approved. I will begin in january of 2010 receiving a payment check, plus i found out that i am due backmoney and that will be dispursed in 3 installments beginning in a couple weeks. SO not only has that happened, but with the recent additions of getting more gigs, my parents have decided help me pay for a new car. SO as i said things are finally starting to look up for me :)

So the Holidays are coming

I have been unable to secure a job in the past year other then umpiring which only lasts for 3 months and working as a free lance videographer which sadly there aren't a lot of events that are needing to be filmed so I don't get asked to film which means I don't get jobs=no money which makes things a lot tougher especially when my family has had to reduce its spending to tighten the budget and to try and make ends meet. I have tried to do my part by applying for some state run programs from foodstamps and medicaid to sadly disability. However, foodstamps doesn't help as much as I would and in regards to my disability appli...
